Boulders Bay and Seal Island, Cape Town

Boulders Bay is a leisurely 40 minutes drive out of Cape Town and is home to a landbased colony of African Penguin. Penguins have existed for 50 million years and are a truly evolutionary bird, a straggler on land but an expert, effortless swimmer in the sea, where they can reach speeds of up to 30km per hour.
The other animal prevalent along the shores is the Cape Fur Seal. A short boat trip to Seal Island divulges a great number of these enchanting animals.
